Based in Auckland, Wellington, and Dunedin, New Zealand. We are Kiwi owned and operated, and we hire New Zealand law students. We never subcontract to outside agencies.
SUCCEED IN LAW SCHOOL
MOMENTUM TUTORING
We work with high achieving law students across New Zealand, helping students attain admission to competitive programs,
succeed academically, and to get internships at law firms.
Momentum Tutoring Offers You…
Individual Tutoring
Our individual tutoring program focuses intently on writing skills. Our team of A+ tutors provide custom written, twice-weekly test or exam-style questions to give students a simulation assessment each week. By honing in on writing skills, we support our students to have the expertise to confidently tackle any type of assessment question during formal university tests and exams.
Admission cap: 8 students per university per year.
Law Firm Internships
Our second year tutoring program offers the same support as in first year, but with a focus to help each student gain work experience at a law firm. Internships occur in the summer after second year, and aim to provide students a one, two, or three week immersion into the legal profession. Current opportunities include firms specializing in commercial, property, employment, family, and criminal law.
Mentorship And Personal Support
Each student in our Individual Tutoring Program is matched with a Success Mentor who provides pastoral support, with the goal of nurturing students through the complexities of University life. Our Success Mentors are senior law students who guide our members in all areas, not just their law tuition. By supporting the “entire student”, we aim to provide a good foundation to manage the highly stressful and competitive law school journey.
Mock Exams And Assessments
Mock assessments give students the opportunity to practice test and exam skills, as well as receive feedback on their answers written under exam conditions. Sessions last between 1-3 hours, depending on which university and year the student is in. Mock assessments take place 7-12 days prior to formal university assessments, with written feedback provided no later than 5 days prior to formal assessments.
Group Tutorials
Having our team on campus means that we are proactively and regularly developing our group teaching curriculum with two goals. First, we ensure our students understand the topics covered in their university lectures. Secondly, we support and guide students to develop the skills required to write an effective assessment style answer, based on what has happened in lectures. This package is available for one semester or one year.
